There are three kinds of show, and all three count toward your season. The difference is what they pay and who sends the points in.

The shows MPBA Productions runs itself each year, at R&J Arena in Verndale and at arenas beyond it. Every one is sanctioned, so points count double, and the office submits them for you.
Shows others put on
Sanctioned Tour Stops

Shows run by other producers who have sanctioned the date with MPBA. Points count double here too, and the producer sends the results in. They join our own shows on one tour stop list that runs all season.
Everywhere else
Any Open Show

Any open pole bending show in Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Dakotas, Iowa, Nebraska and the states around them. Single points, and you send your own placing in.
Tier one
MPBA Productions
MPBA Productions puts on its own shows each year. Most run at R&J Arena in Verndale, with stops at Central States Fairground in Rapid City and in Sioux Center. Every one is a sanctioned tour stop.

Tier two
Sanctioned Tour Stops
These are other people’s shows. A producer sanctions the date with MPBA, and from then on every MPBA member running that show earns double points. The producer submits the results, so there is nothing for you to send in. The list runs to dozens of sanctioned dates a season, our own shows included, at arenas across the region, and producers are still adding to it.
Tier three
Any Open Show
You do not have to live near a tour stop to run for a title. Any open pole bending show in Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Dakotas, Iowa, Nebraska and the surrounding states counts toward your season at single points. Nobody submits these but you, so send your placing in by the 10th of the month after the show.
Run a show yourself?
$30 a show date sanctions your event as an MPBA tour stop. Your riders earn double points, your show goes on the schedule, and you send the results back within a week.
